The world leader in heavy-duty truck manufacturing has selected MDSL for managing cost charge back for their global Unified Communications solution

London, New York, Tokyo and Macau, 10 November, 2008 – MDSL, the leading provider of global telecom expense management (TEM) solutions, is proud to announce that the world leader in heavy-duty truck manufacturing has selected MDSL for managing cost charge back for their global Unified Communications solution.

The deployment of MPLS network and VoIP services are constantly growing, driven by the opportunity for cost savings and better end-user services.  Furthermore, Unified Communication ensures quicker and simpler communications between employees.  However, while providing great benefits for end users, telecom administrators are left with a unique challenge: how to charge back calls which can “break out” anywhere on the global WAN back to the originating party?

A “break out” call happens when a VoIP call needs to exit the WAN and enter the public telephone system to reach the called party. For example, if the originator places a call from Los Angeles to a colleague in Macau, that call might travel over the existing WAN network and break out in Hong Kong.  The local telecom provider then bills the Hong Kong office for the call.  MDSL’s unique solution combines the various global data sources from telecom vendors and unified communication systems with intelligent matching and charge-back routine to ensure that all users and cost centers are recharged correctly.
