MDSL release a new budget management module.

New module to help financial controllers forecast their next budget

London – New York - Tokyo – October, 2007. Rolling forecasting, which is a budgeting approach that requires updated facts and performance tracking on a real-time basis, helps ensure that planning and strategy lead business outcomes. Nevertheless, many companies do not have a way to collect the necessary metrics to take this approach.

MDSL’s Budget Management solution provides a platform for Budgeting and Forecasting, which helps reduce the complexity of budgeting, planning and forecasting and reduce the number of iterations needed to complete the cycle.

With an easy-to-use interface, MDSL provides business decision makers the insight and control they need to effectively manage their telecom budget. The solution gives a financial controller instant access to actual telecom spend across the global organisation.

Financial controllers can view past spend per cost centre or per group of cost centres, actual spending against budget, break down per type of service (mobile, ADSL…), etc removing many of the obstacles in gathering information, coordinating budgeting processes, and consolidating departmental budgets into an integrated corporate plan.

The budgeting BPA solution, gives the Financial Controller the option to forecast next year by using last year total budget or take spend for a specific “reference” month.

Once the budget is submitted by the financial controller a workflow will kick off for budget validation.

When the budget is validated, it is sent to the AP department and updated into the TEM solution.

When financial staff have the tools to analyze historical data and produce forward-looking analysis, they can better plan, budget, measure and forecast future usage of telecom services.
